One of the many fun things we received from our friend Beth's HSBA Post swap package was a recipe for Banana Flowers. We {LOVE} ice cream around here and had lots of fun following Beth's recipe, which is a clever twist on the banana split.
Banana Flowers
Ice cream
Marshmallow cream
Bananas
Your choice of favorite toppings:
Mini chocolate chips
Whipped cream
Sprinkles
Brownie Chunks
Maraschino cherries
Flavored Syrups
Place a dollop of marshmallow cream at the bottom of a small bowl. Slice a banana diagonally and arrange as petals. Place a scoop of ice cream on marshmallow cream. Top as desired!
I made our first ones super simple in order to reduce the potential mess (are my kids the only ones that manage to get chocolate syrup everywhere?) and ensure that the kids would try it. We made them as a late before bed snack and I didn't want to deal with a lot of chaos. I can't wait to make some more and let them play around with the toppings a bit.
Rating: Are you kidding? This is ice cream we're talking about people. Of course it gets 5 fingers! :)
